After a couple of months of recovering from the holidays, completing the end-of-year chores, and working on some new books, March is festival month. I am delighted to have booths at four events.
The PACC Pet Parade
Market month starts off on March 2 with the 2025 Friends of PACC Pet Parade. I’m hoping to attract a little attention despite the presence of many adorable dogs. It’s not just costumed dogs, no, it’s much more. From the Parade website:
On March 2, 2025, Pima County’s companion animals will once again take to the streets for the 4th annual Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade and Friends of PACC Festival.
In addition to hundreds of animals of all sizes and shapes, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and farm pets, the Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade will showcase bands, floats, entertainers, costumed characters, incredible vehicles, and other entertainments. The parade, one of Tucson’s most beloved events, is produced by Friends of Pima Animal Care Center to raise awareness and financial support for animal life-saving programs at Pima Animal Care Center, the largest and only open-admission shelter in Pima County.
The parade takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the Friends of PACC Festival along 7th Street, featuring live entertainment, HSL Properties Adoption Extravaganza, a large vendor fair, and fun activities for people and pets alike. The festival runs until 2 p.m.
I asked my reptiles if they would like to dress up, but they all declined…rather vehemently! I’ve never understood why my reptiles dislike costumes so much, but they do. Of course, the red-footed tortoises are very tolerant of being decorated by schoolkids for Halloween and Easter sessions.
Oro Valley Spring Festival of the Arts
SAACA’s Oro Valley Spring Festival of the Arts is the following weekend, March 8 & 9. Along with the various vendors, there’s live entertainment and food. I’ll be in the middle in booth #28. https://www.saaca.org/orovalleyspringfestivalofthearts.html
Tucson Festival of Books
Hopefully, I won’t sell out at the Oro Valley because the following weekend is the Tucson Festival of Books (TFoB) at the University of Arizona’s Mall, March 15 and 16. TFoB is the third-largest book festival in the country, and it’s pretty impressive for a city the size of Tucson.
https://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/There’s so much to see, do, and buy (including my books, shameless plug). Look for me in the Grab an Adventure by the Tale, booth #408, on the north side main street across from the children’s section. Don’t let the attendance of 130,000 people scare you off. There is a lot of space for exhibitors and food vendors and plenty of room for everyone. Last year, we moved from the children’s area to a corner booth on the main street. Very exciting!
Absolutely Art Gallery & Gifts Show
Suppose you prefer a smaller, more intimate art festival. In that case, my marketing month ends with the Absolutely Art Gallery & Gifts Artist Tent show on March 29 at 16701 N Oracle Road in Catalina.
I hope to see you at a festival in March. I’d be thrilled to sign one of my books for you. Of course, if you can’t make it to one of these events or horrors or can’t find my booth, my books are available through my website or Amazon.
