Elaine Wins Pima County Library Southwest Books of the Year!

2025 Southwest Books of the Year.

With every new year comes the Library’s perennially-popular Southwest Books of the Year. The 2025 edition marks the 48th year of publication. It is now available online (books for adults and books for children and young adults), and at libraries and local bookstores.

Elaine A. Power’s recent book Dinosaurs Roamed Arizona! has been selected as a Pick in the Children and Young Adults category in Pima County Public Library’s 2025 Southwest Books of the Year.

Here is a quote about the book from a panelist on the selection committee:

“Powers, a former laboratory biologist and citizen scientist known for her rhyming, science-based picture books for children, brings her talents to dinosaurs in this engaging and educational read.”
